Buenos
Dias. It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to
Maricopa County Hispanic Networks web site!
I
would like to give you some background information about the
Maricopa County Hispanic Network. In 1992, the International
City/County Management Association (ICMA) Hispanic Board of
Directors gave Maricopa County the approval to establish the
first local chapter ever. Several county employees met to
discuss how Maricopa County could become more sensitive to
cultural diversity. They formed the Hispanic Network, with
its mission to promote the professional and personal growth
of employees through education and involvement in civic, educational,
and cultural programs that enhance our community.
Now,
our Hispanic Network is involved in local community projects,
including county and international projects.
One
of Maricopa Countys goals is to be an organization that
recognizes people for their skills, education, and accomplishments,
as we gather talent from every part of our community.
I
would like to encourage you to continue supporting our Hispanic
Network. They have been nationally recognized by the ICMA
Hispanic Network as a strong, viable vehicle to promoting
cultural diversity, education, and networking.
David
Smith,
CAO, Maricopa County
